Since it began in 2002, Wasatch Forensic Nurses has emphasized a SANE program model that recognizes the importance of every nurse as an essential team member. In 2024, the team of 34 nurses responded to 26 hospitals and clinics throughout Salt Lake, Summit, Utah, and Washington counties in Utah. The team continues to ask the SANE nurses about decisions that impact the program. The nurses' input is critical in deciding whether or not to implement changes. The result of this philosophy is a group of nurses who stay on the team and feel like they are part of a program that strives to make a difference in the lives of survivors of sexual assault.
